It pays to have “connections”: a breeding pair of wild caught Otopharynx lithobates “Red Top” spawned and the female has been brooding in a tank at my LFS. My fish guy, concerned that the female would release the fry over the holiday weekend and that the fry would be eaten by tank mates, encouraged her to spit around 60. And I got to take them all home, free of charge. Score! Looking forward to growing these little fish. And considering that they can fetch $60 individually this is one sweet catch!!!
